Our Programs at MonTsu

Montessori Tsukuba (モンテッソーリ つくば) has three main programs: Preschool, Reading, and After School.

As an advocate of quality English education, MonTsu aims to nurture learners who can read fluently and who love to read.  Hence, all learners under our programs undergo highly structured, individualized lessons that help them develop strong foundations in reading.

Our programs at Montessori Tsukuba may have different  goals, but they are designed to help all our students learn more.

Come, study with us, and become a part of our growing community of learners.

Montessori Preschool
モンテッソーリプリスクール

Montessori Tsukuba is committed to providing the best overall academic head start to any preschool child under our system. Our Preschool program is a unique blend of the Montessori system of education and best English literacy practices for preschool learners.

Our Montessori classroom is fully furnished with authentic Montessori materials and strictly follows the Montessori system of education.  It is for kids aged 3 to 6 years old.

Our Preschool program incorporates literature-based and thematic curricula. In addition, the program provides learners with books. They are intended to enrich a child’s daily learning experience in the classroom.

Reading
リーディング

(Strengthening of the Speaking, Reading & Writing Skills Phase and Reading & Writing to Learn Phase)

Our Reading program is subcategorized into the following groups: emergent readers, beginning readers, early fluent readers, and fluent readers. The students are mostly bilingual learners, and the lessons are implemented mainly through workshops. These programs rely solely on books from different genres of literature, including trade books like Tikki Tikki Tembo, The Magic Pebble, Doctor de Soto, and other Caldecott Honor Books; chapter books like The Magic Tree House; Roald Dahl’s books; Newberry Medal Books like The Giver and Walk Two Moons; textbooks like Treasures; and famous tales from Greek Mythology.

After School
アフタースクール

(The Learning to Speak, Read, and Write Phase)

Our After School program for beginners puts strong emphasis on oral language development, mastery of the structures of the English language, phonemic awareness, and phonics. Basically, it focuses on helping the learners gradually develop the ability to speak, read, and write so they can learn more. The learners are nurtured in a way that gives them a good chance of eventually becoming bilinguals themselves.
